Wind, sand, and a dream of flight brought Wilbur and Orville Wright to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina where, after four years of experimentation, they achieved the first successful airplane flights in 1903. With courage and perseverance, these self-taught engineers relied on teamwork and application of the scientific process. What they achieved changed our world forever.
Theatre of Dare
Founded in 1991, the Theatre of Dare is a non-profit, volunteer group of your friends, family, neighbors & co-workers. All proceeds from our shows go toward the costs of our future productions, and to the annual scholarships we give to Dare County students.
Nature Conservancy at Nags Head Woods
Located in Dare County, Nags Head Woods offers plenty of things to do, such as hiking, jogging, bicycling, bow hunting, and many more outdoor activities year-round. Hiking trails are open dawn to dusk every day for foot traffic only. Please register at the outdoor information counter. Horses and bicycles are not allowed on the trails but are welcome on the gravel roadway. Leashed dogs are allowed on the Roanoke Trail and Town Trail as well as on the gravel roadway; dogs are not allowed on the other trails.

Featured artist-owner Jennifer Johnson changes the inventory weekly, if not daily. From home décor and functional art to gifts for pet sitters, hostesses and family, to wedding favors and gifts, you will see something different each time you visit. We are located on Cape Hatteras, on the Outer Banks of NC. Some personalized items are available.
